Bike Assembly Pt 2, How Much Does Shipping a Bike Really Cost
So, the shop called and told me that I blew three spokes in shipping, and that this was typical for "e-bay bikes". However, they did not have any new spokes in stock for my wheel, and were going to give me a loaner wheel until they could fix it. Loaner wheel deposit $50, or 10% of the wheels cost. In addition, I skipped last nights workout as picking up the bike ran late, had house guests coming, and the kids had a video conference with our family back in Florida.
Sum of total costs so far:
$75 - Assembly
$50 - Wheel deposit
1 missed workout
… Blar.
